M.A.S.K. Mini Comics

M.A.S.K. Mini Comics
Back when M.A.S.K. toys first hit the shelves, a hidden gem came inside each box...a mini comic book! There were three comics in all that delved inside the world of M.A.S.K. that was somewhat beyond the animated series. The first story gave M.A.S.K. a beginning, something that was not told in any episode of the cartoon. Two other unique stories of a Loch Ness monster-like attack and a clever heist by Miles Mayhem to steal masks inside Boulder Hill were also featured in the comics.

We'll be reviewing these mini comics on MASKast 28 and invite our listeners and M.A.S.K. fans alike to rediscover these stories! Erik from Boulder-Hill.Net, who has been a guest on our podcast, has graciously scanned each comic in high resolution and posted on his website for all to enjoy (just in case you don't have them in your M.A.S.K. collection.) Here is a brief overview of each comic:

#1 Flaming Beginnings
In this first story, Miles Mayhem uses a human robot containing a bomb to sabotage Matt Trakker and Bruce Sato. Matt also has a flashback of how his battle with Mayhem began and the tragic loss of his brother Andy.

#2 A Monster From V.E.N.O.M.
In the second story, Mayhem and Sly Rax unleash and Loch Ness Monster-type attack on Matt Trakker and Bruce Sato's excursion to Diablo Canyon. Dusty Hayes and Brad Turner come to the rescue after Matt's signal for help.

#3 Assault On Boulder Hill
In the final story in the mini comic trilogy, V.E.N.O.M. lures Alex Sector and Buddy Hawks away from Boulder Hill. While they are away, Miles Mayhem uses a frequency duplicator device to gain access to M.A.S.K.'s headquarters and Cliff Dagger steals all of their masks. Their evil plan backfires and V.E.N.O.M launches one final combined air and ground attack on Boulder Hill.
